Kevinot Farming started in 2017 by buying cows and increasing the livestock to current levels. We practice terminal breeding meaning all offspring is sold off whilst keeping the breeding stock, this is so we maintain the right numbers for our pastures to avoid overgrazing the land and avoid in-breeding.
Kevinot Farming runs a commercial beef herd consisting of F1 Angus breeding cows, pedigree Angus Bulls. We prefer the F1 Angus hybrid due to the hardiness of Brahmans and the quality of meat brought by the Angus breed.
The sheep is a mix of Dohne Merino ewes, and Dormer rams. These are popular breeds in our local area therefore well suited for our terrain and climate. They are dual-purpose breeds good for both meat and wool production, therefore it made sense going for tried and tested breeds.
